I was very happy to be part of the 2025 IASJ Jazz Meeting in Klagenfurt, representing the Gustav Mahler Private University.
Thirty-five years from the start in 1990, the annual IASJ Jazz Meeting 2025 took place in Klagenfurt, Austria. The meeting was a tremendous success in all aspects.
The host school was the Gustav Mahler Private University (GMPU). Host School Coordinator and head of jazz studies drummer Klemens Marktl, was assisted by Production Manager Monika Schmidinger and numerous other employees. The excellent tenor saxophonist Seamus Blake was the ‘Guest Artist’ during the first three days. In the afternoon of the first three days, teachers and representatives discussed recurring topics in jazz education and jazz education management. Jazz performance, education, and research are constantly changing, growing, and developing.
